Strengthening Capacity for Managing Climate Change and the Environment : Community Based Vulnerability Assessment, Risk Mapping and Adaptation Planning

The project titled "Strengthening Capacity for Managing Climate Change and the Environment : Community Based Vulnerability Assessment, Risk Mapping and Adaptation Planning" is being executed by MoE with TA from ADB and its main aim is to to strengthen country capacity for environment and climate change management.

The objectives of the project are to develop a methodology/tool and test it in the field for its applicability for CBVA, risk mapping and action planning for CC adaptation, produce vulnerability map, risk maps and adaptation plans for one community in four ecological zones, develop a training module and train DDC and VDC officials on the use of methodology/ tools developed from the study and produce documents on CBVA, risk mapping and, adaptation planning for wider sharing, dissemination and use in trainings.

The Project Team comprises of the following members Practical Action Nepal, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Nepal, IUCN Nepal, Center for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) and Nepal National Association of VDCs in Nepal (NAVIN). Each member of the team would be looking after the specific geographical areas and they are as follows:

The total budget for the project is US$ 2,67,000/- and out of which IUCN Nepal shall receive US$ 54,640.
